The investor perspective

Invest in on-site solar.

Fund a feasible solar installation at a commercial, industrial or institutional customer’s premises. Enroute delivers the system, and the customer purchases its electricity under a Power Purchase Agreement.

Customer site. Investor capital. Project-linked income.

From customer site to project income.

A customer site. A clear need for power.

Returns depend on project terms, costs and collections.

Three parties. Clear responsibilities.

The customer buys electricity. The investor funds the asset. Enroute brings the project together.

The investor
Provides the agreed project capital and reviews the costs, financing and contractual rights before committing funds. Ownership and cash allocations are defined in the investment documents.
Enroute Solar
Assesses site feasibility, designs and installs the system, and coordinates commissioning and the agreed operations and service scope.
The customer
Provides the agreed site access and purchases metered solar electricity under a PPA. System size follows site suitability and the customer’s electricity demand.

The agreement behind the electricity.

A Power Purchase Agreement sets out how solar electricity is supplied and paid for. Its value to an investor lies in the details—not just its signature.

Tariff, metering and billing
How billable units are measured, the agreed electricity tariff, invoicing and payment dates, and any agreed escalation.
Duration and site access
The supply period, installation area, access for service and the rights needed to operate at the customer’s premises.
Responsibilities and payment arrangements
O&M, insurance, downtime, customer obligations and the agreed treatment of delayed collections or non-payment.
Exit and end-of-term treatment
Termination, settlement, removal or transfer arrangements and any conditions affecting the investor’s exit.

Follow the cash, not just the panels.

Generated electricity, billed units, collected money and investor distributions are different events.

  1. 01

    Electricity is supplied

Metering records the solar electricity supplied under the project arrangement.

  2. 02

    The customer pays

The customer is billed under the PPA. Actual collections fund the project’s cash flow.

  3. 03

    Project obligations are met

Agreed operating expenses, loan repayments and other project obligations are deducted.

  4. 04

    Investor cash is allocated

Residual cash is allocated under the signed investment agreement. It is not a guaranteed fixed payout.

Review the project before the return.

A useful investment discussion starts with the site, the electricity buyer and the agreements.

  • Customer demand and technical site feasibility
  • Customer credit, tariff and collection terms
  • Generation, seasonality and annual degradation
  • Maintenance, insurance and equipment replacement
  • Ownership, site access, termination and exit rights
  • Financing, taxes and cash needed during shortfalls
